PTA /

The Parents and Teachers' Association is a group of volunteer parents who meet on a regular basis with the director of the school. It consists of parents, teachers and administration as a forum for the exchange of ideas to support the school with fundrasing and practical assistance.

All Parents Are Welcome

All parents of student attending BIS are automatically considered members of the PTA. Parents are heartily encouraged to be active members of the PTA and build a bigger future for the BIS community. All parents are urged to attend the meetings and participate in the PTA activities.

The PTA's major functions are:

  • Organisation of fundraising activities;
  • Planning and assisting school events;
  • EStablishing good will by welcoming and supporting new students and their families into the school

Parent representatives per class are elected at the beginning of each term by parents in each class to be acting members of the PTA for that term and will be responsible for disseminating information from PTA to other parents in the class.

The PTA Has just successufly organize a care and share week were students had the opportunity of sharing goods and love with less priviledged children in our community. Children brought clothes, food, toys and many more items to donate to children of three orphanages in Beira: Melaine Center, Santuário Kedesh and Infantário Provincial de Sofala. Donations were so generous that we had to add a fourth orphanage to the list of beneficiarei. Well done parents and students. Students also had the oportunity to exchange gifts

"On th18 February, BIS will be holding its Auction Dinner. The PTA has already organized tickets and their are available for purchase from the PTA at the school. This a great opportunity to win fantastic prizes, contribute towards the development of the school. Great prizes are up for grabs!

BIS celebrates Father's Day on the 19th February. Although we do not hold any special event for the day. We'll be remembering the role of the father figure and will use the ocasion as an opportunity to help children reflect on the theme.
